Liturgical Dancer

When I was growing up in the Catholic Church in the Deep South in the 80s, there was some very progressive things being done at youth group prayer services and Masses.  Two of the most formative moments in my spiritual occurred at these services/Masses.  At one, we had a prayer service with communion outdoors in a wooded area on the grounds of our parish.  At another, we danced around the sanctuary for the recessional.

In both of these cases, I remember being filled with such joy.

As time has passed, people now tend to make fun of liturgical dance, as it was such a 70s/80s thing to do.  But it retains such a special place in my heart, although I can see how some think it is hokey.

So, it came as a great delight when Ramona would take my iPhone, play the liturgical music I have on there, and dance around the living room.  She calls it ballet, but I'd like to think that we have another liturgical dancer in the family !

I love it. But is she wearing glasses?

I'm with Laurence - what's with the glasses? Also, I must have told you, the very first mass I went to in Rochester a mom danced for her daughter's baptism. It was blow-me-away beautiful, and a perfect expression.
