We have two calendars in our house.

A paper calendar in the kitchen where Mr. Q writes down his travel schedule and I mark standing meetings, and a smaller paper calendar that I keep in my purse with my schedule and the girls appointments. Every 6 weeks or so, I sit down with both of them and reconcile them, but there's definitely times when I have to go and check both of them before scheduling something.

It's an inefficient system, but one we've been using for about 4 years. I've looked at various on-line calendaring systems, but I hate the idea of having to turn on my computer just to look at my calendar !

One of the things I do to make sure we are on the same page is to forward e-mails to Mr. Q where I commit myself or our family to something, whether it be an event I want to attend as a family, or a moms' night out just for me.

I feel like such a dork sending an e-mail to my husband instead of telling him in person, but it definitely falls in the category of "Do whatever works !"

I bought these wipe-off calendars for each month at a teacher supply store. They're helpful for all the home stuff. But I send Scott emails too, and mostly rely on my Outlook calendar which I can see from my Blackberry (when it's syncing properly that is).

I'm lost without my big calendar on the wall. If it's not on the calendar, it's not happening as far as I'm concerned. I have a filofax too, but I only ever use it for travel dates these days - that is, times when I'll be away from my big calendar on the wall!

heck, not only do I send R e-mails, I send him invitations so it appears automatically on his computer and thus his blackberry. Otherwise, forget it. We are fully digital. But I keep wondering if we need a family caendar a la google or something, but not sure we're at that level yet.

We have a family Google calendar that both Ben and I post to and must check before we schedule anything. Both of us can access it from our phone so it works for us. We also have a wipe off calendar that is in the kitchen with Samantha's hours and the events from the Google calendar for quick reference. FYI I sent Ben multiple email throughout the day about things I remember we have to do, questions I have etc. he is very patient with my "system". Whatever works.
