Will you join me?

It was a little over 13 months ago-January 4, 2008, that a couple of the Milk Moms browbeat me into compacting as my Lenten sacrifice.

It. changed. my. life.

With all the other reasons that I love my Milk Moms, this is one of the greatest. Whether it's compacting or thinking about mothering in a different way, they inspire me to be a better person.

And I want to pay it forward.

So, I challenge you, dear reader*.

You can read about compacting here and here. You can choose to compact for a specific period of time, or you can make it a Lenten sacrifice (2/25-4/11). As for me, I had to look up the dates of Lent since I haven't been to church in a month. Oh yes, me who I'm all "I'm a pretty faithful Catholic..."

As I did last time, I will not purchase any new products - except consumables. And since I'm still battling my addiction to the thrift store, I will not shop there except for things on my exemption list. I will post a list of "exempt" items here that I will allow myself to purchase during my compact.

Will you join me?

*I evidently think I'm Ann Landers or Dear Abby. One of them used this phrase a lot.

Please, please, please put "Frosted Glass" on the list of exemptions. After all, I'm buying it, not you. You're just facilitating.

You go girl! I'll admit I'm not a big shopper but I will certainly support you all the way. By the way, I am giving up chocolate for lent, want to join me?

I don't shop much, but I am happy to reduce consumption as much as possible. Can't do Therese's though. Giving up chocolate could cripple me.
