Happiness at Value Village

Even though my rumble at Value Village ended nicely, I was still a bit nervous about returning. Truth be told, the past few trips I haven't had my really great mojo on. I was starting to get nervous - what if I had lost the touch? The touch to zone in on the Gymboree dress from down the aisle, the touch to pick out the pink of Dora's shirt and the orange of her shorts from amid the sloppily stacked piles of books, or the touch to zone in of the play sets with their complete pieces taped inside. Oh, the HORROR!!!

With some motivation in my head, I decided to forgo cleaning the house (or the hall closet, so sorry Luchy!) and use my 2.5 hours of weekly "me" time to just have a nice "wander around" trip to the "new" VV. I had a small list, but mainly I just wanted to wander.

Imagine my surprise when I saw a woman with dark hair and two little boys in her cart. She turned slightly, and I thought, "No, it can't be. Maybe? But her face looks too thin to be WhyMommy!!!!!" I left my cart and went up to this woman and tentatively said, "Susan? Are you Susan?"

So, I got all nervous, and teary, and said "I think I might cry." But it certainly wasn't over sadness, it was over excitement!

You know what makes it even better? It was her first trip to this Value Village! And who better to welcome her than Thrift Store Mama?!?!?!

Wow, see what happens when you aren't even purposefully stalking people? You meet them anyway!

THIS is the funniest thing ever! You totally should be there to welcome everyone on their first trip to The Village.
