Quote Board

At a job I worked at while in college in the student center, we had a quote board on the back of the office door. Any funny or random things that people said went there and it was always hysterical. I've often found myself wishing that I had a virtual quote board now - some way of remembering all the funny things that people say. Not necessarily the kids, either, but David and me or my friends.

Last night David and I went to the wedding of his "work wife" - his best female buddy at work. They've worked together for roughly 5 years, before she started dating her new husband. We sighed in agony when they moved in together while still only dating and waited not so patiently for an engagement. There are lots of things I could blog about from this wedding - how the homily/sermon at the episcopal church served as the ever present reminder to always choose love. How nice it was to hold David's hand for long periods of time. How *&^% mad I am that we didn't take a picture of ourselves - we looked so nice. How great the music was - it kind of started out with the 60's and there were several songs from each decade as the DJ worked his way up to present day. We left after he played "Livin on a Prayer" because you just can't top Bon Jovi.

But without a doubt, one of the funniest points of the evening was a brief conversation I overheard between the groom, Rob, and a friend. A bit of context: I think these guys are around 28, 29 or so.

Friend: "Dude, is Journey on your play list?" (Play list for the DJ)
Rob: "What kind of a question is that? Of course Journey is on the play list."

That's one for the quote board.

I would have liked to see a picture of you two looking so spiffy too. It sounds like a great night.

I can't believe you had a quote board! In college my second floor had a quote board that by the end of the year spanned the entire hallway. I loved that quote board. Good times.

No picture! Well then, you'll just have to go out again looking just as spiffy as we all want a pic!
