I'm beginning to wonder if we're bargaining or enticing Esther a little too much in the food department. See, she LOVES cheese, asks for cheese all the time and at almost every meal. But because she has issues in the poop department and cheese causes issues in the poop department, we really can't let her have a lot of cheese. She is frequently told that she can have 1 tiny piece of cheese for every other bite she eats. I guess it's really starting to sink in because here's what she told me at lunch today while I was eating my tunafish salad sandwich.

"Mommy, you haf to eat allllll your sammich."
"Okay, I will, I like my sandwich."
"Mommy, if you eat allllll your sammich then you get one piece of cheese. Okay Mommy? Okay? If you eat all your cheese, then you get a juice box. If you drink all your juice box, then you....get....a....COOKIE!!!" (with appropriate pauses for dramatic effect)

Oh, I can hear her saying that! I can hear her voice in my head as I read it and I know every word of that transcription was true! Wait til she learns about patterns and insists on eating in one.

I always laugh when Connor tries to emulate me like this. I hope you finished your sandwich so you could get the cookie!!

I love it. Hey, maybe you could pull a Martha Stewart and start making your own cheese from scratch and just load it up with fiber for her?

how sweet. Rachel comes back with expressions I could hear the lady at the daycare saying them.

what about counterbalancing the cheese with some prunes or some fruit salad. Rachel went through a phase when she could have eathen the whole package until she discovered the cookies
