Slow Down

Oprah is doing a story today on a mother who accidentally left her child in the car for 8 hours while she was at work. Other mothers are calling in and relating things they accidentally did that endangered their children.

It is heart wrenching and so very easily could happen to me or any of the mothers I know.

The girls are both napping now. I can't wait for them to wake up so that we can go outside and play and screw the wet laundry in the washing machine or the dirty dishes in the sink. And I'm also not going to think about the wet laundry or the dishes while we play.

Great quote from the show: "The presence of your child can be your number one meditation object."

I heard one of those stories on the news a few months ago...about locking the kid in the care and going to work. It absolutely haunted me.
