Beer

Today was a loooooong, hot, sweaty day. Not a bad day - in fact, it was a good one - but it was loooong, hot and sweaty. It was the kind of day where I got sweaty, it dried off, and then I got sweaty again which made me feel sticky.

I don't keep beer that I like in the house. The presence of a cold Rolling Rock or Bud Light would just be too tempting at 11am. So at the end of a long, hot sweaty day I have no cold beer to relax with after David gets home.

And that's where my neighbors come in. Today, David walked in the door and I picked up the phone to call our neighbors B and J. (not the neighbors who came to our house when Ruthie went to the ER). B and J raised four boys and J was a SAHM for 8 years or so, so I suspected that they could remember those long, hot, sweaty days. See, B. is a pretty big beer drinker and I felt fairly confident that he would have beer in the house. Three minutes later I was sitting in their family room, bud.light in a beer glass and another can in my hand to take home.

How could we possibly even consider leaving this?

I think you're channeling me. I just emailed my brother today cause I want to borrow all his homebrew stuff. Cheers to good neighbors!

Wow - homebrew is too highbrow for me. You can take the girl out of Alabama but you can't take the Alabama out of the girl, I guess!
