Off kilter

Between the work on our "new" room, David's work travel, and the new sleeping arrangements for the kids, I've found it hard to check my e-mail or write new posts for either blog. So, if you've sent me an e-mail and I haven't replied, you may want to give me a phone call.

David left Thursday and will be gone for several days. Oh. dear. god. There are lots of moms and dads out there who do the single parent thing well. I am not one of them.

If David were the type of guy who sat around and watched TV, read the paper, and drank beer all the time, then it wouldn't be such a big deal when he's gone. I wouldn't notice his absence. However, he is the ANTI of that type of guy and as a consequence it is very difficult when he is gone. The only good thing about it is that Esther becomes very clingy to me, which I love.

I'm looking forward to really starting our new summer routine next week and hopefully developing a rut.

P.S. As I'm typing, Esther is sitting and nursing one of her babies and murmuring, "I'm feeding you, I'm feeding you. It's gonna be okay, it's gonna be okay." This motherhood gig is pretty good. Maybe I'm not that off-kilter after all.

Esther is funny! I always overhear Connor telling Helen "It's OK, Helen, Mommy is coming right back."

Maybe they do listen after all!
